Lophophora williamsii, otherwise known as peyote, is a small and slow-growing round spineless cactus with woolly tufts of hair. It is native to Mexico and southwestern Texas and considered an endangered species due to over-harvesting in the wild. It is extremely drought resistant and relatively easy to grow.
Flowers are normally pink and white and are followed by small edible pink fruits. This species is generally considered self-fertile.
